Electoral bonds were a system in India for anonymously Electoral Bond Details Out | SBI on Electoral Bond | Supreme Court on Electoral Bond funding political parties. Introduced in 2017, they allowed individuals and companies to donate money to parties through bearer bonds, similar to cash, purchased from the State Bank of India. The scheme aimed to fight undisclosed cash donations in elections. However, it was struck down as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in February 2024. The court argued anonymity violated the right to information and raised concerns about undue influence on parties. While the scheme is no longer in effect, the debate on anonymous political donations and transparency in election funding continues.
The Donor whose name is first Future Gaming, a lottery company owned by Chennai-based Santiago Martin, which purchased bonds worth Rs 1,368 crore, by Megha  Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd, promoted by PP Reddy and PV Krishna Reddy, which bought Rs 966-crore worth bonds at second number. And At the third number is Qwik Supply Chain Pvt Ltd with Rs 415 crore in bond purchases.

Who Paid More Money as a Electoral Bond.

Three companies are from West Bengal, Keventer Food Park Infra Ltd, MKG Enterprises Ltd and Madanlal Ltd, which is related to together bought bonds worth Rs 579 crore.

many companies which have purchased bonds have faced action by investigative agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation, and have faced Income-Tax raids or surveys for the electoral bond and for also other work.

Background of Electoral Bond Case on Supreme Court

ECI: Only one copy of the data exists, and it’s with the Supreme Court
Appearing for the ECI, Advocate Amit Sharma sought a “minor modification”. The Judgement dated 15 February and the Order dated 11 March required the ECI to share the details contained in the sealed c on website, along with the data disclosed by SBI Sharma explained that the Supreme Court must have assumed that the ECI had a copy of the documents .
CJI Chandrachud sahab sir stated that the contents of the sealed cover will be scanned and digitalized and made available to the Election .  The  originals, along with the scanned and digitalized copies, will be shared with ECI. And that is published on website.

CJI sir said for “all details” of electoral bond transitions
With the logistics of the sealed cover sorted out, the CJI said: “Just one thing, who’s appearing for the State Bank of India? In our judgement, we had directed disclosure specifically of all details of the bonds, including the purchaser, the amount and the date of purchased.
and finally SBI has published with the help of ECI on their website.
